1937-53 Cad / Lasalle Transmission
These transmissions were in the Lasalle from 1937-1940, and in the Cadillac from 1937-1953. And the one year only 1950 Oldsmobile. They are all 3 speed transmissions and the 37 is a one year only top shift. All the other years are side shift. And the 50 olds is the only year with the short tail shaft that can bolt right up to this transmission.
Today they are know as the Cad/LaSalle or just LaSalle trans. These were the go to trans in the 50's when hot rodders would take the flathead out of the car and put in one of the Oldsmobile or Hemi motors as they were strong overhead valve engines.
This rubber bumper is where the stick shift makes contact with the shift fork rod inside the trans. If you have never replaced it, it is 100% bad. These are the same durometer and size as if they were NOS. You dig out the old and push in the new. Easy to do when the trans is apart.

This is a Ford bearing retainer / Trans mount if you are going to convert your LaSalle to a short tail shaft and closed drive, known as a torque tube. This has been painted and both surfaces machined and modified to bolt up to the rear of the LaSalle. There are 2 models to choose from. 78-7085 were from 37-41 and have a 10" hole center on the ears. The 99A-7085 were from 1939 to 1941 Mercury and 41-42 Ford and have a 8" hole center on the ears. The 21A-7085 is very similar to the 99A-7085 and were from 1942-48 Ford and Mercury and also have the 8" spacing. I also can machine your existing adapter by having you send it to me for the machine work.
